Outings Class - A Visit to a Farm

(Picture Info: A, 1/500, F5.6, 300mm)

For this Outings class with Noella Vigeant, we went to a local farm.  Really special place - only 25 minutes and I was out of the city.  I was recharged after this experience and very grateful for it!

There is a little bright spot at the bottom-left.  I don't know why this happened but I think the edge of my lens may have picked up a bit of reflection from the fencing below.

I wanted to get an interesting picture of the chickens and the I realized how colorful the feet were and thought, "yes" that's the shot I want.  I don't know if it's the best composition but at least I was able to capture the feet with some good color and lighting.

(Just for fun - the piglets were too darn cute!!)

Outings Class - Pumpkin Patch

(Picture Info: 1/320, F10, 42mm)

I'm exploring the area with a great teacher: Noella Vigeant.  Last week we visited a pumpkin patch and learned about taking shots with side light and also trying to focus in on just one subject and take out other distracting objects.

I stayed in Aperture mode the entire time and took this with my Nikon D5100.

These were some shots I got after our outing at a local restaurant parking lot - a whole wall of flowers.
